Wellstream employed Mr. Tuohy as Regional Technical Manager, relocated to Aberdeen with the responsibility of establishing, developing and managing Wellstream’s technical presence for this region that spanned Europe, Middle East, India, Africa, FSU and the North Sea. His role included technical interfacing with clients, marketing, management of the finite element modelling group and the proposal engineering group, technical guidance to corporate on new business development and future R&D planning, technical adviser and mentor to floating production system development both internally and externally. He was the Company sponsor to Statoil for the Ăsgard B qualification program. Key projects during this period with which he had significant involvement included: Durward/Dauntless (Glas Dowr FPSO) development, (North Sea), Terra Nova field development Consortium FEED competition (Newfoundland), British Borneo Morpeth field development, (Gulf of Mexico), Soeker E-PT field development (South Africa), Shell Bengo field and Shell Bonga field conceptual designs (West Africa).
