Mr Tuohy was the Director of Product Strategy within the Wellstream devision of Halliburton. This role covers the three business streams of core flexible pipe products, integrated products and diversified products for both the onshore and offshore markets, including oil & gas, defence, utilities, water industry, mining, and disaster relief. He attends meetings with senior executives within the major oil companies and other customer’s world-wide to ascertain their aspirations and needs over the next 10-20 years. Mr Tuohy was also responsible for the company strategy on intellectual property both for the purposes of protecting the company innovation and technology but also for the protection of strategic markets. The development of new ‘3-G’ technologies for future diversification and also to provide an innovative conduit to solve existing technical challenges was also sponsored under this role. He was also responsible for the co-ordination of JV’s and mergers. Being a new position, Mr. Tuohy was developing a team to support these functions.
Mr. Tuohy was also sponsor of one of the company’s four key drivers – Innovation & Technology. This key driver covers company image, publications, internet / intranet development, and electronic libraries among others.
